Greiner Packaging joins international Alliance to End Plastic Waste

As of today, Greiner Packaging is an official member of the international Alliance to End Plastic Waste. Based in Singapore, the alliance has over 50 member companies, supporters and allies along the entire plastics value chain who aim to use a joint, proactive approach to tackle the problem of plastic waste – especially in cities around the globe.

Greiner Packaging extends its range of recycling materials

The use of recycled material is playing an increasingly important role in the work of Greiner Packaging. The new circular economy strategy, which the plastic packaging manufacturer has been actively pursuing since the autumn, involves adopting a holistic approach. This includes making savings in material and CO2, as well as increasing the recyclability of its packaging and the use of greater quantities of recycled material such as r-PET, r-PP and r-PS.

Greiner Packaging performs initial tests with K3® cups made from 100% r-PS

The initial trials carried out in Switzerland demonstrate that Greiner Packaging is already capable of producing yogurt cups from 100 percent recycled material. Basically, it’s the most eco-friendly and sustainable solution imaginable.

IML lightweight cup achieves material savings

Greiner Packaging is taking various steps to make its packaging solutions as sustainable as possible. One key approach is reducing material usage while maintaining or improving recyclability to save weight as well as cutting carbon emissions. The company is now unveiling a plastic cup for Greek yogurt that demonstrates the strong success of these efforts.

New sanitizer bottles from Greiner Packaging

Sanitizer bottles have been a part of our everyday lives since spring 2020 due to COVID-19 – whether used at home to keep family members safe, for trips out, for day-to-day work, or for professional and medical applications. As a result, Greiner Packaging has now expanded its range of bottles to meet the increased demand.

Greiner Packaging develops innovative refill solution that reduces use of plastics

Greiner Packaging is now offering a solution that is as smart as it is environmentally friendly: a sustainable refill bottle that can be used for liquids in spray bottles such as household cleaning products. The bottle can be used for multiple refill doses, doing the work of four conventional spray bottles and trigger sprayers – a supremely simple and affordable way to cut down on plastic waste.

Greiner Packaging brings new cardboard spoon to market

A spoon included in packaging for convenience products is nothing particularly groundbreaking. But Greiner Packaging and its joint venture partner Cardbox Packaging are now taking this idea to the next level in keeping with the principles of a circular economy. The result is a 100 percent recyclable cardboard spoon.

Greiner Packaging partners with SABIC to create first bouillon packaging made from circular polymer for Unilever

These days, plastic packaging manufacturers are faced with ever increasing demands to incorporate more sustainable and more recycled materials, such as r-PP. For the first time, Greiner Packaging has now teamed up with global petrochemical leader SABIC and brand owner Unilever in a pilot project to produce tubs and lids for KnorrTM bouillon powder that are made from 100 percent certified circular PP from postconsumer plastic material. The new solution is already on the market.
